- Took Shadow for a walk.
- Ate dinner in about 3 minutes so that I could drive Beth to work.
- Dropped Beth off at work at about 6:55pm.
- Drove over to the new house to meet with the current owners. The purpose: to discuss the results of the inspection that was done last week. Everything went well, as planned. Shadow came long, and so far is a big fan of the yard. She even made a trip inside, up the stairs and around some of the rooms.
- Shadow likes the house.
- Drove home to the Penn Garrison, parked on the side of the building.
- Ran into John Pierce (fellow resident of the PG). If you need a ride around town in style, give him a call. Ask me and I'll pass on his info.
- John and I were talking, when along comes a man, who appears to be very, very, very drunk. I get a brief look at his face, and it turns out it is a former security guard from our apartment building! It was hard to tell that it was him since his face was pure yellow and his body was about at swollen as it can get without bursting. He also have very badly busted blood vessels in his legs.
- After a few minutes of talking about whether it was really the old door guy, John and I thought that it might be a good idea if we checked him out to see if he was ok. Well, we found him almost passed out at the base of the 9th Street bridge.
- We called 911 and told them that there was a guy here that appeared to be in very bad shape. They didn't really seem too concerned, and asked us to call them back if we wanted the police to come see him. What?!
- Well, John came and told me what they said, and I told him to call them back and tell them to send someone NOW!
- The guy then decided that he didn't want us to call anyone and proceeded to walk to the other end of the bridge... where he once again passed out.
- We metback up with him, this time after telling 911 to ACTUALLY send someone!
- I talked to the poor guy for a little bit, turns out he now lives under the bridge!
- A cop car finally comes driving by, the cop is talking on his cell phone as I am attempting to wave him down. The cop just waves back at me, with the hand that is NOT holding the phone. Again, WHAT?!
- After waiting about 15 more minutes, with no sign of law enforcement or medical professionals, the guy makes his way to his "home" under the bridge, and John and I start walking back home.
- John and I make it all the way over the bridge when we see a cop van roll up to the other side of the bridge.
- Time to walk back over the bridge.
- By this time, the police had made a loop around the block and we flagged them down.
- We talked to the police, tell him how bad he looks and where he is now laying. They say that they will check him out and call in the meds if they feel that he needs attention. Ok, the guy is about to explode and he's a yellow as a banana.
- With it being 9pm and our Good Samaritan work done for the evening, John and I walk back to the apartment building, thinking that we did just about all that we could do.
- Shadow and I make our way back into the apartment.
- I decide it's time for a little treat.
- 1 Banana
- A bunch of soy chocolate ice cream (Beth bought that crap)
- 1 BIG scoop of peanut butter
- About a cup of milk.
- 1 Magic Bullet later, I have a nice milkshake.
Yeah, I guess that isn't that exciting, but it's more than usually happens on a Tuesday evening.
Good night!
